5 Best Midjourney Prompts: July 2024 (Toys & Games)
Midjourney modifiers inspired by different types of entertainment.
I’m back from my summer vacation to bring you a belated batch of Midjourney modifiers. This time, I’m focusing on descriptors related to toys and games.
Today’s showcase subjects are:
Butterfly
Transformer
Villager
In this ongoing series, I share simple, standalone modifiers you can apply to your prompts. Use them with any scene or subject that you describe in greater detail.
Prompt #1: “LEGO, [subject]”
Ever wanted to turn stuff into LEGO? Now you can!
Using “LEGO” along with your subject will—shockingly—imagine it as a LEGO set or a standalone LEGO figure. Upon closer inspection, you’ll likely find many oddities and inconsistencies, but at first glance, the results sure look a lot like LEGO.

Prompt #2: “2D platformer, [subject]”
If you’ve played computer games, chances are good you’re familiar with side-scrolling 2D platformers. Midjourney’s been trained on enough in-game screenshots to faithfully render your subject as a hero of its own 2D arcade game.

Prompt #3: “[subject] as a board game piece”
If you’re more of a board game fan, this modifier helps turn subjects into something you can use for a tabletop game. You can easily get more nuanced with your subject and describe the exact type of piece you want, but even my generic prompts get some cool results.

Prompt #4: “Playing card showing [subject]”
But why would you stop at board games when you can also render pretty sweet playing cards with your subject on them? You wouldn’t!
This modifier works best with a vertical aspect ratio. I’m using 4:5 for the sample images below.

Prompt #5: “[subject], Funko Pop figure”
And finally a little something for Funko Pop collectors: a digital alternative to the physical version that’s simultaneously much cheaper but also much more nonexistent.
Midjourney is quite good at mimicking the exaggerated bobbleheads and the disproportionately small bodies of Funko Pop figures.

Over to you…
I always suggest trying these modifiers in other text-to-image generators to see what you get.

These are fun. I'm fiddling with a miniaturized TTRPG-style die-cast figure thingy for my avatar right now!
