5 Best Midjourney Prompts: January 2025 (Architecture)
Fun architecture styles to try for your images.
It’s the last post of January, so I’m back with the monthly Midjourney modifiers.
Today, I want to share a few cool architectural styles that trigger distinct and striking images in Midjourney.
My showcase subjects are:
🏡Hut
🏰Mansion
🗼Tower
Let’s go!
Tip: If you’re not getting good results with some of these, try adding the word “architecture” after the modifier in your prompt.
Prompt #1: “Baroque [subject]”
Let’s start in the 1600s with fancy Baroque architecture, which features almost over-the-top decorative elements, grand domes, and ornament-filled interiors. Nowadays, you’ll find it all over Europe, likely at spots that attract lots of tourists. Or you can imagine your own with Midjourney, from the comfort of your home.

Prompt #2: “Prairie style [subject]”
Jumping to the late 1800s, we’ve got the Prairie School of the Midwestern US, which is all about flat roofs, horizontal lines, open floor plans, and natural materials like wood and brick. If you’re familiar with Frank Lloyd Wright, you’re familiar with Prairie School. I suggest using “Prairie style” in your Midjourney prompts to avoid getting a literal school building.

Prompt #3: “Brutalist [subject]”
Fast forward to the mid-1900s, and we get brutalism, which goes all-in on raw concrete and blocky geometric shapes. While it originated in the UK, you’re likely to associate brutalism with imposing Soviet-era apartment blocks, monuments, and government buildings. Midjourney is great at capturing its instantly recognizable look and feel.

Prompt #4: “Googie [subject]”
If you’ve ever seen The Jetsons, you have a good idea of what Googie architecture is about. This Space Age style features curvy shapes, upswept roofs, and plenty of neon. While Midjourney doesn’t always nail the Googie aesthetic, the results are always funky, futuristic, and full of character.

Prompt #5: “Biomorphic [subject]”
Straight lines are for squares. With biomorphic architecture, we get nature-inspired organic shapes and structures that look like bones, shells, or entire living organisms. Midjourney often gives this style a surrealist spin, resulting in futuristic buildings that look like they’re in the process of morphing into an alien hive.

🫵 Over to you…
As always, I encourage you to test these styles with other image models to see how they turn out.1

Here’s every Midjourney term I ever covered in one huge visual guide:
For instance, the featured image for this post is made with Google’s Imagen 3 and fuses googie, brutalism, and baroque.
So fun as always. I used Gemini & igloo as my architectural structure. Ironically, the image is struggled most w/ was ^Goolgle^. First it Googled igloo then when I gave it more info, it just put a Google office inside an igloo ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Those are rad! I think you're getting pretty good at this stuff - go figure, of course, but I think you also have a good eye for the aesthetic.
I hadn't thought about using architectural style as a prompt until just now, but it's a great idea.
