We were both right about ChatGPT becoming the superapp over time. I'm sure others will follow suit, too.

Yeah I see no reason for OpenAI to not combine every new model or feature under a single all-in-one umbrella. There are definitely synergies to accessing all the tools within a single interface (or chat, in this case). I wonder if they'll eventually develop more visual interfaces that go beyond chat on top of their LLMs. Time will tell, I guess.

Rudy was just saying he hoped there's still some focus on models that do one task, especially with regard to things like cancer research. I think he's right about that, but I also think that money may come from subscriptions to the all-in-ones.

In this context, it's important to distinguish between models for the mass market (like ChatGPT) and specialized models (e.g. x-ray analyziz) focused on specific tasks. There's definitely room for both, and yes - specialized models probably often benefit from being laser-focused on doing one particular thing extremely well!
